Frank T. Simpson Scholarship 2025

Dear Partners,

The BSL Educational Foundation Inc. is proud to announce the availability of scholarships for graduating Connecticut high school seniors attending public or private schools. Applications are for 2025-26 school year students enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university beginning in the Fall of 2025. The scholarship is a $2,000 one-time grant for the freshman year.

The application deadline is April 30th. Please note that the committee will notify you if you are selected as a 2025 BSL Educational Foundation scholarship finalist. An interview will be the final step in selecting our reward recipients.

An awards reception for recipients will be held in early June 2024. Attendance is required. The BSL Educational Foundation Inc. must receive evidence of Fall Semester 2025 enrollment at a four-year college or university before the Awards Reception.

Selection Criteria

Graduating high school seniors attending public or private schools in Hartford County
Students who will be enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university
Preference is given to Black/African American male high school seniors
Academic excellence, class rank with a minimum 3.0 GPA
Must have documentation of community service and other extracurricular activities within the community and school
Personal essay as required in the application package
Preference – male students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall are encouraged to apply
